My profile has been up a few days now. And I am getting lots of "bites" in my fishing experiment. The messages that the guys have been using to introduce themselves or meet me, despite my challenge to them not to be lame, are alas, lame. It appears that this is the biggest challenge to men in dating on line.
The majority of the "Meet me" messages are as follows:
"Message: whats up venus this is (insert name here) lets talk"
There are several things wrong here:
1) Despite the age of texting, if you are not using normal etiquette, I (other women too) am going to think you are under-intelligent. These guys murder punctuation and never capitalize anything.
The Lesson for guys here: Refrain from using text shortcuts, ie: how u doin, or u r sweet lookin, etc. Try to show some intelligence with normal writing.
2) Where is my challenge? I am a woman looking to find a great guy! Do you see any challenge or any reason why I should reply to this type of message?
The Lesson for guys here: Never use "Hi" as a subject. And stop just saying "hi lets talk" type sentences. I need a challenge, a REASON to reply to you.
One guy tried with a "hey, remember me?" which is still as lame as hell but at least it is sort of a challenge to me to try and figure out who I am supposed to be remembering.
Bottom line, so far all have been deleted. None have shown me any reason why I should return his message. In short, despite my suggestion not to, they are all still being lame.
If you are falling into this category, this is why you are not having huge success with internet dating. If you played the game right, you could really clean up in sites like this.
